He died in 1500 in England.

         The children of the two marriages of this Robert Steele numbered 15 and their births expand nearly 40 years.  Robert died in either May or June 1821 near Tazewell, VA on the farm he managed with his late father.  In his Will Robert provided for all members of both families in what he felt was a fair and equitable manner.  Tazewell, VA is located in southwestern Virginia near the Shenandoah Valley.

The DAR Genealogical Review lists about 135 Steels (with spellings: Steel, Steele, Steelman) in The Revolutionary War (http://services.dar.org/public/dar_research/search_adb/default.cfm). Of course, Steele was as common then as Jones or Smith are today. After the Ulster Land War of 1770, a lot of Steel(e)s got kicked out of Ireland. There are at least 20 paternal lines that immigrated to America, and only one that seems to have been an ancestor.
