The Steele Family Photo Album

The families of the Steele Brothers of Georgia had annual Easter family reunions.

Easter Sunday 1945

On Easter Sunday in 1945 it was held at the farm home of Wallace in Bertie, in Spalding County Georgia just north of Griffin, Georgia.  The ladies brought their best covered dish dinner food and the men would barbecue a hog.  And of course, there was always plenty of fried chicken, cakes and pies.

Wallace and Trudy Steele had a large peach orchid and farm.  There was always a Easter egg hunt and candy for the children.   Everyone dressed in their Easter Sunday clothes to look their best.

All of the cousins were very glad to visit one another because family reunions were a fun time to have fellowship with family.  Often a softball game or a game of pitching horseshoes would begin, adding to the fun.

These reunions created wonderful memories and pictures.
